EASTERN REGION

CIBIP - Creative Industries Business Improvement Partnership

CIBIP can provide advice and guidance on training needs, support the development of company training plans, and offer small bursaries to cover the cost of training for staff. The project is aimed at small and medium enterprises as well as individuals working in the creative industries who are based in the East of England. CIBIP can also guide companies in making larger applications for funding to support training costs through other EEDA schemes.

The project is being run by Anglia Ruskin University, Screen East and Theatre Resource and is funded by EEDA.

Theatre Resource 'The Business' - acredited arts training for people with learning disabilities.  Strong focus on employment within the arts and creative industries. 

Contact now for details of term-time course starting Sept (one day a week, 10am-4pm).  Courses take place at Theatre Resource in Chipping Ongar, Essex

Training for education

Aldeburgh Productions and Britten-Pears Young Artists have joined together to offer an exciting trining opportunity for musicians focussing on arts education and in particular working with special needs. Workshops will be led by Stephen Langridge and Mary King and will involve participants working with students from The Ashley School, Lowesoft. NATIONAL

Missing Piece 6– GRAEae Theatre Company’s performing arts training programme for aspiring actors with sensory and physical disabilities, which is run in partnership with London Metropolitan University. Taster workshops are being run November - April in Voice and Improvisation Skills, Exploring Text, Physical Theatre: Dance and Movement, Devising for Performance and Learning Lines/Audition skills. Krafti Kidz

A new arts and crafts venue for children with autism has opened in Ipswich. An after school club is being introduced as well as art classes for those children with autism later in the year. For more information about this exciting new venue please visit www.kraftikidz.co.uk or call 01473 290200.

Springboard & Spin Off Dance East are holding dance groups for people aged 16+ yrs with learning and physical disabilities. Springboard is held on Mondays 7.30pm - 9.30pm and Spin Off is held on Tuesdays 7.15pm - 9.15pm. Both Groups are led by Lynnette King and provide participants with the opportunity to develop new dance skills and create dance in a safe and friendly environment.
