It was lovely to meet some of the children at Roman Hill Primary School last Friday, where we started a brand new programme of Lowestoft Folk.
The school was so welcoming and Ms Whiting really made us feel at home – we can’t wait to go back this week.
We also welcomed artist Kate Munro, who will be running the first few sessions, and then return in February, for the trip to the Lowestoft Maritime Museum.
The children spent the first half of the session quizzing one another about things they collected and family traditions and then set to, making their very own Lowestoft Folk Story Bags.
Judging by the level of excitement and their comments at the end of the afternoon, they all enjoyed themselves. When asked what they thought of the session, the general response was that it had been ‘awesome’, ‘fantastic’ and just ‘the best’.
