Brave Art Year 2 – Booking Open

August 27, 2020 by Suffolk Artlink

It’s been quite a year for Brave Art, but despite the hurdles, we are delighted to have been able to continue providing our arts course for adults with learning disabilities without a pause since March.

We’ve had a fantastic term, making the most of Zoom, Facebook, telephone and post to keep in touch with our students, and they’ve made some incredible work together!

After a summer break, are looking forward to recommencing the course for its 2nd year from Monday 21st September.

We’ve had to make a few changes, as social distancing continues to be necessary to keep our students safe and well, but we’ve learned a great deal over the past 5 months and have adapted our offer to ensure we continue to provide an inclusive course.

We have divided Year 2 into two offers to make it as accessible as possible
for everyone. If you sign up for the Brave Art Course, students can join us online throughout the week using Zoom, and the Brave Art Club is designed for those that would prefer to be supported offline through phone calls and post. Students can choose which option suits them best.

All students will receive a fun and inspiring activity booklet filled with creative activities devised by professional artists which forms the foundation of the Brave Art experience. Participants will also receive arts materials and a Brave Art sketchbook.

The theme this year is Utopia, and we will be working with artists to explore many different art forms, including drawing, model making, painting, poetry, sound art and animation.

Term 1 will cost £80 (reduced from the face-to-face cost of £225).

We hope to trial face to face sessions this term in some locations and it is our wish to return to face-to-face sessions as soon as it is safe. We will continually monitor government guidelines and assess the opportunity to make changes to delivery for terms 1, 2 and 3. We will keep students informed as necessary.
