In our recent Storytelling course, Liza composed her own story and illustrated it with beautiful artworks she created using watercolour and ink.
The Frozen Marriage
Once upon a time lived a young girl called Elizabeth who lived in an orphanage in the city of Paris. Elizabeth was very lonely except for her only friend, a stray long-haired tabby cat called Sydney. Elizabeth and Sydney had many adventures together over the years, but as she had just turned 17, the head of the orphanage, Zelda, now made Elizabeth earn her keep by cooking, cleaning and taking care of the other children, as Zelda was very lazy, drank a lot of wine and was always sleeping off her hangover.
One day Elizabeth fell asleep after a very long day at work, and when she was in a deep sleep, she was visited by an old lady in a dream. The kindly old lady whispered quietly to Elizabeth telling her that she was actually a princess and her parents were the King and Queen of a foreign land called Arendelle. The old lady told her that they had been cursed and turned to stone. The new ruler of the lad was a wicked queen who had banished Elizabeth to the orphanage to hide her true identity. The kindly old lady told Elizabeth that the only way to break the spell was for Elizabeth to return to Arendelle and find her Prince Charming.
The following night Elizabeth took Sydney and ran away. She travelled for 4 days and nights. On the 5th day she found the castle where she was born and she found her parents in the form of statues in the castle dungeons. In horror Elizabeth ran from the castle and after several hours running she collapsed in the middle of a field. Just as it was getting dark Elizabeth woke to the sound of horse’s hooves. As she sat up a very handsome man towered above her on this beautiful white stallion called ‘Heartbeat’. The man was called Dom Willoughby and was actually a Prince. Prince Willoughby scooped Elizabeth up into his arms and as they looked into each others’ eyes they fell hopelessly in love. They kissed and magically the spell was broken and her parents returned back to life.
Elizabeth and Dom were married the next day in front of the people of Arendelle and her very happy parents. The wicked lady was taken to the dungeons and lived the rest of her life with the rats and the toads. Princess Elizabeth and Prince Dom lived happily ever after in the castle with Sydney and Heartbeat.
