Depicted by legendary funny man, Robin Williams, in the film of the same name, American physician Patch Adams is the grandfather of clown doctoring.
The Clown Doctors can barely contain their excitement to be part of one of Patch’s workshops. Not only is he the master of their field, but he rarely travels to the UK from his American stomping ground. This is a wonderful opportunity to expand their Clown Doctor approach with playful insight from one of their idols.
This inspiring workshop follows hot on the heels of a vibrant training session led by the wonderful Charlotte Arculus from Magic Adventure. Charlotte shared her skills as an early years music and arts specialist, inspiring our Clown Doctors with new methods of non-verbal communication, sound play, music and creative interaction.
By the end of the month, Drs Fillie Fidget, Christobell Misschief, Dizzy Daydream and Kimble Guitarrr will be brimming with new ways to bring joy, support and comfort to children and young people in hospital wards and hospices across the region.
This year the Clown Doctors are making even more visits to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital than ever, as well as running a full programme at Colchester, Ipswich and James Paget Hospitals and Suffolk and Norfolk EACH Hospices.
