As Creativity and Wellbeing Week approaches in June, we’ve been busy working on events that aim to help develop the arts, culture and health sector in the East.
Earlier this month, our Co-Director, Alex Casey, led the very first Culture Health East Network event, which took place at the Jerwood DanceHouse, and focussed on the hot topic of Social Prescribing. It was a huge success, bringing over 100 professionals together working in the arts, culture and health sectors for an afternoon of networking, discovery and debate. We enjoyed a keynote speech from Lord Howarth, on the All-Parliamentary Group’s two-year inquiry into Arts, Health and Wellbeing, as well as inspiring case studies and panel discussions.
Next stop, Alex will be speaking at Norfolk Arts Forum’s professional development sessions as part of their Creativity and Wellbeing Week programme. Alex will be sharing news of Suffolk Artlink’s new role as one of the regional champions for the national Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance, the role of the Alliance, the range of support it provides and how you can get involved. The professional development sessions take place on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June.
There is a full programme of Norfolk Creativity and Wellbeing Week events. In this inaugural programme for people of all ages, you will find over 75 events including: open days, craft and print-making taster sessions, film and theatre performances, singing workshops, stitching and writing for wellbeing, exhibitions and talks.
