We’d like to extend our gratitude to Suffolk company, Stephen Walters and Sons, for their generous donation of £500. Thanks to our current Arts Council Catalyst funding, which matches all donations we receive from new supporters, their contribution will result in a fantastic £1,000 towards our work. This will help us bring even more arts activities into local communities, particularly to those that may not otherwise be able to enjoy an opportunity to work with some of the county’s most talented artists.
Stephen Walters and Sons know a thing or two about creativity. As an ethical and environmentally responsible weaver of silk and fancy yarn jacquard fabrics, the company is proud to design and weave all of its fabrics in Suffolk.
With artisan skills and expertise passed down through nine generations of the Walters family history, the company has been exemplifying contemporary craftsmanship for almost 300 years.
Working from the company’s extensive archive of heritage fabrics and drawing on more contemporary inspirations, the design team produces fashionable fabrics which are distinctively creative. The company takes a collaborative approach, working in partnership with designers to develop unique fabrics for their signature collections.
We are thrilled to have the support of a delightfully creative Suffolk company that, like us, prides itself on high quality craftsmanship, collaboration and a dedication to supporting the local community.
