Oulton Broad Primary School children taking part in the Lowestoft Folk project visited residents at Broadlands Care Home on Tuesday afternoon where, as well as enjoying a gripping story all about Lowestoft Museum from professional story teller Liam Carroll, the children showed off their own, personalised story bags.
The bags were created with artist Caitlin Howells, using masking tape, stick-on letters and other materials, to block out areas of the canvas. Acrylic paint was then applied and the bags left to dry.
Yesterday, the big reveal took place, as the children removed the tape to expose their designs. These bags will be used throughout the 12-week programme, as the children collect stories and images about local folk arts and customs.
