But inside the Lowestoft Folk group is singing sunshine.
We had a lovely session at Broadlands Care Home yesterday, during which the children quizzed the residents about old phrases and sayings, including why a stitch in time might save nine, and why gift horses should never have their mouths inspected.
We’ll be taking a break next week, as it’s half term. When we come back the children will be off to explore Lowestoft Museum with artists Caitlin Howells and Vicki Johnson, while the residents record some of their family customs and traditions with creative writer, Lynn Whitehead. ‘Til then, keep warm.
