May’s artist of the month is the lovely Kasia Posen. Kasia is a thoughtful, friendly and inspiring artist using her creativity for the power of good across a variety of our projects, including Creative Company and JumpstART.
Name: Kasia Posen
Can you tell us a little bit about your own practice?
I am a freelance artist and creative workshop practitioner. I am really interested in experiential art, ranging from the practice of drawing through to costume design and immersive theatre arts. I run various creative workshops, my main interest being the processes of drawing. My approach to drawing is conceptual, sensory and experimental. I enjoy delivering creative sessions that enable participants to become completely absorbed by their creative processes. I run regular weekly workshops at The Cut in Halesworth.
What’s been your favourite artistic experience of the past 12 months?
I had a fantastic time working on creating props and costumes with everyone from Suffolk Artlink’s JumpstART project last term, on the Musical Words and Pictures course led by Dean Parkin. I think that the highlight was watching the films on the final day, seeing how everyone’s ideas and hard work had come together to create something so magical, original. Fantastic!
Which Suffolk Artlink projects have you worked on to date?
How has working with Suffolk Artlink influenced your work?
Working with Suffolk Artlink has really enabled me to explore ideas and the creative process. Suffolk Artlink has given me the opportunity to develop my practice as a workshop leader. THANK YOU!
How would you describe Suffolk Artlink in 3 words?
Fantastic, Transformative, Supportive
