Today’s story comes from Richard Watts, a regular student at our JumpstART course in Bury St Edmunds. It’s a rather touching tale that explores the light and dark in all of us, and our need for belonging.
The horrible, amazing facts about Bob
by Richard Watts
Bob lived in Sudbury on his own. He was the most sexist, hypocritical, rude, full of himself creep you could ever meet.
He burped and farted all the time, even in Morrisons and the local pub. People were quite shocked by Bob.
Deep down, Bob was lonely. No one wanted to go out with Bob because of his personal hygiene issues.
One day, Bob met Christina. Christina was kind and gentle and sweet. Christina wasn’t looking for a normal boyfriend.
She could see straight away that underneath the sexism and burping was a kind and caring and wonderful person. Also amazing!
Christina and Bob sat together. They talked together and eventually went out together. Bob and Christina are still together today. They both have a lot to offer.
On Wednesday 13 February, we’re holding a special book launch to celebrate the JumpstART student’s stories and artworks. We’d love to see you there – more details here.
