“Had fun… It really cheered me up, thank you.”
“It was awesome seeing that you can make music not just from a guitar but from things as little as a video box.”
What is Avenues?
We enabled young adult family carers to explore new, contemporary art forms in a social setting to build their creative skills, qualifications, confidence and support networks.
Working in partnership with Suffolk Family Carers, and based at the University of Suffolk, we ran three social evenings followed by a summer school that introduced our carers to a diverse range of art forms, including film making, contemporary sound design, printmaking and dance. Sessions were guided by innovative arts practitioners, chosen in collaboration with our carers, and included the opportunity to achieve an Arts Award.
Who is Avenues for?
Avenues was part of our programme for young adult family carers.
When & Where is Avenues happening?
The sessions took place at University of Suffolk in Ipswich.
