What is Giggle Visits:
Giggle Visits was a one-year pilot project that brought the person-centred engagement used in hospitals and hospices on our fantastic Clown Round project to the new setting of women’s refuges. Our Giggle Workers used their special brand of artistry to bring fun, laughter and distraction to children and young people in two women’s refuges in Norfolk run by Leeway.
In a series of regular visits in 2018, the Giggle Workers engaged young people in clowning, storytelling, music, magic, circus skills and improvisation. They focused on supporting and empowering young people and their families during what can be a challenging time, tailoring activities thoughtfully and sensitively with individuals at the heart of each interaction.
