This generous donation follows two fundraising events devised and held by Lucy and a merry band of fellow artists from right across the county. Both events encouraged people to support us whilst celebrating the joys of the creative, which is right up our street!
The first, in November, saw Lucy and her fellow artists at the Handmade Shop and Gallery in Bury St Edmunds collect donations in return for the chance to give Japanese woodcut printing a go at their local Christmas Fair. Following this, artists displaying work at Heart of Suffolk Winter Exhibition kindly donated art works to a prize draw, whilst plying visitors with tea and cake in return for contributions to their fundraising pot.
In total our supportive artists raised over £700, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to them all for holding such creative and enjoyable events to generate new funds for Suffolk Artlink.
Thanks to our current Arts Council Catalyst funding, the monies raised will be doubled, resulting in over £1,400 towards our work this year – what a marvellous early Christmas present!
If Lucy has inspired you hold a fundraiser in support of Suffolk Artlink, we’d love to hear from you. Small or large, every penny helps us to develop and deliver more inclusive arts programmes in the East that bring people skills, support networks, confidence and joy.
