If you live in Babergh, you like to be creative and you’ve got a few hours to spare in the first couple of months of the New Year, why not come and volunteer to help out at our ‘Make, Do and Friends’ project?
‘Make, Do and Friends’ is our new programme for older people in rural areas, bringing creative workshops and events to the villages of Mid-Suffolk and Babergh, providing an opportunity for them to share and learn new skills whilst enjoying a cuppa with friends and neighbours.
In early 2019, we’re heading to Nedging with Naughton to run fortnightly creative get-togethers and are looking for volunteers to give us a hand setting the sessions up alongside our visiting artists and generally help with the smooth running of the creative activities.
You’ll get to work alongside some lovely creative people and there’s always tea, cake and a good laugh too!
The five sessions take place fortnightly on Wednesday mornings, 9.30am – 12.30pm, starting on 23rd January. You don’t need any specific skills or experience except to be happy to lend a willing hand and wear a smile. We’ll cover your transport costs and you get to join in with the crafts.
For more information or to sign up contact our Project Officer, Lynn Whitehead, by email at lynn@suffolkartlink or leave her a message by calling 01986 873955.
You can read more about the project on our Make Do & Friends page.
