Carrie Phoenix
Project Development Officer
Carrie grew up in Suffolk, then moved away for many years before returning in 2015 to start a family with her then partner and now husband Sam. Currently, Carrie lives locally with Sam and their son, “where we grow lots of food, keep bees and chickens alongside my work for Artlink and my own creative practice.”
“In my own practice, I am a socially engaged artist who works with sculpture and installation alongside my project Officer role at Artlink.” Carrie’s role entails the development of new and existing projects, creative direction and management of artists, themes, venues and participants.
“I loved having the opportunity to develop the Around the Table project back in 2015/16. It was a real opportunity to work from the seed of an idea while marrying participant ideas and needs with a new and engaging direction close to my heart.”
The best thing about being part of Suffolk Artlink is “The support I feel from our team is truly something. Such a wonderful bunch of different creative thinkers, who look out for each other and those we work with.” Something Carrie is passionate about is “Growing food and plants for mental health and creative exploration.”
