Our Carbon Emissions
Suffolk Artlink CO2e Emissions 1 October 2025 to 31 March 2026
Suffolk Artlink believes environmental degradation, including climate change and ocean acidification is having a dramatic, negative impact on life on Earth.
We have a small office, but we work in the communities where people live – last year we worked in 43 places. Where possible we hire venues that can be accessed using public transport and we promote public transport and, where appropriate, walking and cycling.
We believe the way we work has a low impact and we think it may be difficult to significantly reduce our impact because we rent the spaces we use and many things are outside our control. However, we think reducing carbon emissions is important for our planet and we must do what we can.
This year we decided it was important to start measuring our CO2e emissions. (CO2e is the universal unit of measurement to indicate the global warming potential of Green House Gases.)
We have started by measuring emissions that we control and that are a significant part of our activities. Our most significant emissions are gas, electricity and travel for work. We are measuring different forms of travel for work because we aim to promote electric vehicles and encourage the use of public transport and active travel where possible.
The table and chart below shows our first six months’ measurement. The impact of gas heating at our office was a surprise.
We are now seeking £326 to purchase four smart radiator thermostats and a controller. Donations for the specific purpose of carbon reduction may be made here https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/16349.
