Creative Health

What is Creative Health?

Creative Health can be defined as creative approaches and activities which have benefits for our health and wellbeing (National Centre for Creative Health, 2025) and includes a spectrum of activities from ‘everyday creativity‘ such as knit and natter groups or gardening within your local community, to specialised non-clinical interventions such as Dance for Parkinson’s programmes or Singing for Lung health.

Research shows that active engagement with the arts, culture and creativity is beneficial for the health and wellbeing of us all.

Following the Creative Health report that was published in 2017, the Creative Health Review, delivered in partnership with the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Arts, Health and Wellbeing, was published in 2023.
