Leon Barnard

Leon’s energetic, joyful drawings and prints are driven by his fascination with geography and international cultures. Inspired both by the everyday places he moves through and the landscapes and people of far-away countries, he draws intuitively with bold pens and pencils.

Recently, he has been exploring the native fish and prehistoric animals of his homeland Suffolk. Working prolifically, he has evolved book illustrations into a series of complex block prints, some of which are due to be featured in public banners hung throughout Ipswich Museum. Energised by this new medium, Leon plans to continue developing his drawings with multi-layered printmaking.
