Brandy casks and books that smell of church
The sun beat down on the riverside walk, the jelly fish pulsed their way through Ipswich wet dock – and a very excited team of Extra Time practitioners arrived at The Hold, to explore a little of Suffolk Archives.
It was a glorious, exhilarating, day, full of beautiful documents, books that called out to be stroked and more stories than we could begin to imagine; the visit left us with far more questions than answers, but joyfully so.
Our thanks to Mandy and Lucy at the Hold, for making our visit so enjoyable; whilst we ponder ‘what is heritage?’, here are a few images to illustrate the variety of possible answers to that question.
