Creative Health Landscape – Update

Changes are happening to NHS Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in England, due to a major shake-up of NHS management structure led by Health Secretary Wes Streeting.

Geographical footprints of Integrated Care Boards are changing.

What does this mean for us in Suffolk and Norfolk?

From 1 April 2026 Suffolk will join with Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board to form the Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board. The North East Essex area which has been joined with Suffolk, will join with Essex Integrated Care Board.

Ahead of the merger, Ed Garratt has been appointed Chief Executive Designate of the new organisation.

“I am honoured to lead our new proposed organisation and look forward to supporting the excellent work of our hard-working staff to improve health outcomes across Norfolk and Suffolk.

“Our ambition is to create an outstanding organisation that drives, with our partners, meaningful improvements for the communities we serve.” – Ed Garratt

What does this mean for Creative Health?

The Creative Health work previously undertaken and delivered by Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) ICB will inform learning and future development for the ICB, as discussed at the Creative Health Interest Meetings (CHIMe) launch in December.

If you missed that event, you can watch the meeting recording available here.

As these changes are implemented, we will maintain cross-sector dialogue on the development of Creative Health across the regions, alongside supporting healthcare colleagues through the period of change.
