Greetings from Red Oak Primary School

It was lovely to meet the whole of Year 5 at Red Oak Primary – and fantastic to see all the wonderful postcards they made, ready to invite friends and family to the First Light Festival Parade on Saturday 17th June.

The session started with a whistle-stop tour of Lowestoft as a popular seaside resort from Victorian times up until the mid-60’s, courtesy of Suffolk Archives and their online educational resources.

After that, the children set to, making elaborate and highly imaginative postcards, some of which are featured below.

There was even time to make a classroom-length of sea-themed bunting and leave copies of our Greetings from Lowestoft Bunting Guide for the children to use when they come back from their half term holidays.
