Claire Atherton
Creative Health & Equity Lead for Norfolk & Suffolk
Claire has previously worked for over 8 years as a freelance Creative Health practitioner across the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk. She brings direct experience of working within the sector and local knowledge of place. Having most recently been awarded a Masters in Medical and Health Humanities specialising in Creative Health, she brings a plethora of knowledge of initiatives within this growing sector.
In partnership with the Culture Health and Wellbeing Alliance (CHWA), Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Artlink, Claire’s role is an agile and evolving role to ensure Creative Health is valued and developed equitably, including infrastructural and strategic support, across Norfolk & Suffolk.
Claire is most excited about rejoining a team and having support from a passionate team of people because she has previously been working independently. She is also excited to work hard to provide opportunities for people to rediscover their creative talents and ultimately improve their health as a result.
Outside of work she loves to explore and is happiest near water, particularly the amazing coastline we have on our doorstep. Claire can often be found walking the coastal paths, whatever the weather!
