Anchors Aweigh for Brave Art Students

Anchors Aweigh for Brave Art

Brave Artists in Bury St Edmunds ended the summer term with an exciting commission for the Anchors Aweigh! Art Trail. The trail will be part of the Woodbridge Festival, a vibrant community art event throughout the summer.

The students spent a day with artist Caitlin Howells creating mixed media portraits of themselves and all the team, using pens, wax crayons and watercolour washes. We then cut out and collaged the images onto the freestanding anchors to create a colourful and joyful depiction of the group.

Student Josh said: ‘It’s like riding down a river of paint to a world of colour!’

The happy colours and faces reminded Fiona of holidays and summer.

Look out for the Brave Art anchor in Woodbridge this summer and then as an art installation during Woodbridge Festival of Art and Music in Elmhurst Park in September.
